The Long Term Care Nurses Association (LTCNA) is a non-profit organization designed to provide education, career advancement information, networking opportunities and advocacy to its long term care nurse members. LTCNA is affiliated with the Illinois Health Care Association (IHCA), which represents more than 300 licensed long term care centers and programs in the state of Illinois.

Pros and Cons of Becoming a LTC Nurse After Graduation

Nurses working in long-term care facilities provide care to patients with recovery needs that extend beyond the traditional hospital setting, such as patients with disabilities who are unable to care for themselves independently or those suffering from progressive or chronic illnesses. LTC facilities can include nursing homes, assisted living facilities and memory care facilities.
